For the past few years, no eid can go without them, we all love them, they have the same ingredients as baklava, but it is easier to eat them than baklava. A rosie – a snack 🙂 The truth is that this is one of the high-calorie cakes, but fortunately, we don’t make them very often, just for family holidays, at least that’s the case with my family.

The recipe is very simple, there are only 4 main ingredients, so let’s start:
1 kg of baklava/jufka phyllo dough
1 kg of walnuts
2 butters of 250 g
Syrup:
1 kg of sugar
1 l of water
1 lemon
The amount indicated above is for the tray that comes with each oven, so you can freeze the rest (if there are any:)). Make yourself a place on the desktop because you need to have space for filing and bending the phyllo. Melt the butter (at a lower temperature, just till it melts, it mustn’t boil), crush the nuts in the blender and mix it with three or four tablespoons of sugar in a separate bowl. On the surface you put the first phyllo, which you coat with butter, put on another one, which you also coat with butter, and another on, which you also coat with butter. On the third or fourth (depends on whether you like bigger or smaller roses), then on the last one spread the mixture of walnuts and sugar and when you cover the whole surface with walnuts, you wrap (roll) from one end to another, to be firm. When folded into a roll, you cut the roses to thickness of about 2 cm and put them on the tray, turning them upwards. Bake them at 170 degrees C for about 40 minutes, then reduce the last 15 minutes to 100, to just let it dry. During this time, warm up 1 kg of sugar and 1 liter of water to boil, add lemon slices into this mixture, for the aroma. When the roses are baked, while they are still hot, pour slowly warm sugar syrup and let them cool down. Believe me, it is worth breaking the diet for the sake of them!
